NBTA college chapter members at Dreamville Fest

This past weekend, the Nothing But The Arts college chapter at North Carolina Central University got the amazing opportunity to attend the Dreamville Fest in Raleigh, North Carolina!

The Dreamville Festival, founded by American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer J.Cole, was held on April 2nd and 3rd this year in the beautiful and historic Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. Initially established in 2019, the music festival was postponed for the past two years due to COVID-19 but came back this year stronger than ever. The two-day festival boasted an impressive lineup on both days, with performances by artists like Ja Rule and Ashanti, Lil Baby, Kehlani, Wiz Khalifa, Rico Nasty, T-Pain, and J.Cole himself along with many other great artists.

Members of our college chapter at the North Carolina Central University had their own vendor table, granting them special benefits that the festival had to offer.

“We chanted, we danced, and we laughed. With our vendor passes, we got VIP access to all the concerts and exclusive locations on the site,” said one member.

As a chapter of NBTA, the NCCU members can attend events such as these to learn and connect with others who are interested in all forms of art as well as attend workshops to learn from professionals in their respective fields. NBTA seeks to provide a space for creators of all kinds of art and media to keep the arts alive in their schools and communities. Recalling the experience from the festival, one member of the chapter said, “So far, in tips alone, we have earned $551 which will go back into our organization for the summer and the following semester.”

NCCU’s meaningful success and experience at this year’s Dreamville Fest will help cultivate the future of the NBTA and help us create more opportunities for our members. We thank our members and the volunteers for working hard at the festival!
